A Smashing Great Time!
It was the exciting neck to neck games which kept everyone on their toes for this Great Eastern Life gathering.
It was going to be a fun-filled day with a sumptuous spread of food and beverages waiting for them. A queue quickly formed in front of the lavishly prepared lunch buffet and our marvelous chefs were kept busy with replenishing the food! Amidst the soup, pasta and other delicacies, laughter was constantly heard at every table as they anticipated what we had in store for them.
We started off with a team-forming game, The Great Pretenders! Everyone received a card which had the name of a famous person or character. E.g., Tom Cruise (Actors), Bugs Bunny (Cartoons). You are supposed to act out your character and find any fellow members of the same category, thus forming a group. Our first volunteer did an impersonation of James Bond which you can bet that everyone guessed right on the first try! Kudos for the smashing performance!
After the wildness and laughter had settled down, we continued with the next game, Express It, Guess It. Like the title suggests, you are supposed to do an expression through either drawing, acting or speaking and the rest have to try and guess it. Watching them draw ‘relieved’, acting out ‘flirtatious’ and more was simply hilarious.
We went ahead with the second game and boy, was it a Rumble! Jurassic Jumble, to be exact, was the name of the game and it saw our guests shouting and screaming to collect dinosaurs of the same color so that they can grab a bone. (Yes! A bone!) Snatching, grabbing and hollering at the top of their voices, each round was punctuated by the scream of the one unlucky player who’d missed out on grabbing a bone. Stress relief, the chance to make lots of noise and tonnes of fun all in just one game!
We had one last game up our sleeve, one full of cutthroat negotiation and sabotage! Appropriately named ‘I’m the Boss!’, everyone wanted to be part of a deal and was going all out with guns blazing to get money. A grand opportunity was taken by some to display their skill at smooth talking, bargaining and deal making whilst others simply went out of their way to sabotage and wreck their opponent’s plans! Throughout it all, you could hear the outraged laughter and declarations of revenge of our enthusiastic players.
We also had a special teabreak treat prepared for our guests which included cookies, snacks and tidbits with the sweet concoction of our famous dessert, the Black & White Brownie with Ice-cream! Radiant smiles were hanging on their faces as they left, laughing and planning for their next trip here again, to The Mind Café.
